 Melamine Reactor System - 60,000 Tons/Year Minimize

   60,000 tons/year Melamine Reactor System   Stock # 600462

  Highlights

  Brief Overview

Products Produced from the Melamine Reactor System

    Melamine (60,000 tons/year)
By-Products: Ammonia and Carbon Dioxide (2 tons/ton of Melamine)

  Two Methods of Melamine Production

    Conventional Melamine Process
    New Integrated Urea-Melamine Process

  • This Process Produces High Quality Melamine and Has Lower Investment and Energy Costs Than Conventional     Production Methods
  • The main improvements of the newly developed integrated urea-melamine process compared with the conventional
        gas- phase melamine process are:
  •

  • heat recovery from the by-products ammonia and carbon dioxide
  • export of water-free by-product gases to the urea plant without a concentration unit
  • synthesis of melamine melt instead of melamine vapor
  • integrated purification of the melamine melt without a re-crystallization unit
  • water-free quench process producing directly dry powder
  • low cost ammonia recovery due to separation of by-product gas before the quench
  •

      Melamine Application Areas

The main application for melamine is a raw material for the production of melamine formaldehyde resins, which are used as an adhesive for wood-chips; giving laminated panels and floors their unique surface properties and attractive finishes.

  • Laminates (main application)
  • Wood-Based Panels
  • Coatings
  • Molding Powders
  • Flame Retardants
  • Concrete Plasticizers
  • Paper and Textile
  •
