The methanol plant used to have a designed production capacity of 240,000 t of methyl alcohol per year.
The synthesis gas is produced through the catalytic reforming of the natural gas with water vapors on a nikel catalyst at temperatures over 800ºC. After the cracked gas is cooled and purified, the two purified cracked gas flows ( the synthesis gas) go to the synthesis reactor with the help of the synthesis compressors. The crude methanol is produced from the synthesis gas in a reactor with copper and zinc catalyst , at 210-270º C and 50-54 bar. The methanol as a finished product is manufactured through the distillation of crude methanol.
