Part of Complete Tertiary Amines Plant, Stock #600448 and is a component of the complete Process listed under DMA Stripping & Recovery #600515
Stripper Feed Tank (Stock #216015):
Product is fed to the stripping column from a 21,000 gallon CS horizontal storage tank. It is rated for 50 psig at 300oF and is 12' diameter x 24' straight side. The wall thickness is ¾”.
Steam-Stripper Column (Stock #216016):
The steam-stripper is a packed column that utilizes 150 psig steam to strip light organics from a heavier organics stream. The column has a total of 10 stages. The high efficiency dump-packing is 700 Cu. ft. of Norton #40 IMTP 316LSS saddles. The 304L top section of the column measures 60” diameter by 156” tall, and the 304L bottom section measures 42” diameter x 460” tall. In the P&G operation, the column typically ran at 60 psig, 300°F bottoms temperature, and 160°F overheads temperature. The typical flow rates were 35,000 – 90,000 lbs/hr feed, 15,000 – 45,000 lbs/hr overheads, and 20,000 – 55,000 lbs/hr heavies flow.
Stripper Overhead Condenser (Stock #216018):
The steam-stripper overhead condenser is used to condense the overhead vapor stream of the steam-stripper. The vapor enters the condenser at 160°F and is condensed and sub-cooled to 110°F. The 2,824 sq. ft. shell and tube exchanger is constructed of 304LSS and is rated for 180 psig at 400°F on both the shell and tube sides. It is 27" diameter x 342" long and was built in 2000. Cooling tower water flow on the tube side of this exchanger runs at 170,000 lbs/hr.
Pressure Settler (Stock #216012
):The pressure settler is a gravity decanter that separates lighter organics from heavier organics or a brine solution. The pressure vessel has a removable liquid-liquid plate coalescer that increases the separation efficiency of this vessel. The feed to this vessel is side entry with two opposing nozzles so that the streams impede each other, creating a zero-velocity gradient which encourages better separation.
The 6,500 gallon capacity pressure settler is 84” diameter x 21’ long. It is rated for 180 psig at 400°F and is constructed of 304LSS with 316LSS coalescing media. The vessel has ¾” wall thickness and was constructed in 2000. The light solution flows out the top of the settler and heavy solution such as a brine stream, leaves from the bottom.
