The Technological Process:
Continuous production based on direct reaction of liquid NH3 with gaseous CO2 at the pressure of 14 MPa and the temperature range of 175-185°C. What is generated is aqueous solution of ammonia carbaminan and urea, from which the carbaminan is removed using CO2 stripping at the synthesis pressure. The entire process takes place in pressure vessels, which are connected in series and purpose-modified (tube heat exchangers and 1 reactor).

The resistance of the construction materials of all the pieces of equipment of the synthesis loop that are in contact with the reaction compounds is ensured through selection of appropriate construction materials as well as through permanent passivation of the surfaces of these materials.
Passivation of the materials is achieved by addition of air (whilst oxygen is the active component). During continuous passivation (i.e. on-the-run) the addition of air is controlled in such a manner so that the concentration of oxygen in CO2 may stay at the 0.9% by volume level and might not drop below the level of 0.75% by volume. Whenever oxygen supply is discontinued for any reason whatsoever or the oxygen concentration drops too much, the synthesis must be discontinued. The maximum allowable short-lived (for 10 minutes maximum) decreased concentration is 0.5% by volume of O2. Whenever the synthesis process is shutdown for a period longer than four hours, it is necessary to renew the passivation layers of the material (blowing hot CO2 containing 1% by volume of oxygen into the synthesis loop for at least 12 hours at the minimum temperature in the reactor (100°C).

The product is surface-modified - using the URESOFT-150 agent - to avoid its agglomeration. The typical content of this agent is 0.4% by weight.
