Plant has a nominal capacity of 128,500 tons/year
Plant was revamped over the years and shut down occurred in year 2011.
Plant is structured on two lines that work separately and in parallel, with common services. Each line has four reactors, and one of those line can produce polypropylene.
Other important equipment of the plant are three Pomini-Farrel extruders.
Plant can be broken up into (6) main sections:
Plant was fed with ethylene that came from the local cracking plant, and was shut-down due to shut-down of cracking plant. This plant needed to receive about 112,000 t/y of ethylene. Others raw materials are: hydrogen, propylene and as auxiliaries: TEA, heptane, co-monomer and BORIS catalyst.
Plant is designed with two lines, that work separately and in parallel. For each line there are four reactors, where ethylene reacts in presence of catalyst and is transformed in a solution containing polyethylene resin. Then this solution is dried, centrifuged and finally extruded to polyethylene pellets, thanks to three Pomini-Farrel extruders.
